The casework for this floor standing jewelry cabinet is red oak. The tapered legs are attached to the apron with mortise and tenon joinery, and locked with square wenge pins.

Maple ambrosia is used for the side panels and drawer fronts. The streaking in the ambrosia maple is a natural discoloration that occurs when Ambrosia Beetles enter the red maple. They bring with them a substance that spreads up and down the tree, following the vessels in the wood. The resultant distinctive gray to brown streaking against the creamy white red maple wood, accented by the “eyes” of the beetle tunnels, makes this a highly prized wood.

The drawers slide on runners made of solid teak, and have wenge handles. Each drawer is lined with blue velvet and compartmentalized for the various sizes of bracelets, pins, and rings. The ring drawer has padded slots to keep the pieces organized.

The side doors feature angled padded panels with pegs for necklace storage.
